The housing, not the slogan
Same county: Scarsdale remediation, New Rochelle inspection, White Plains, and Westchester air quality. Across the state line: Greenwich and Fairfield County.
Rye is Sound humidity plus older wood-frame houses. Milton Point cottages sit closer to leftover storm moisture; a first floor that “dried” can still hold wet pad. Downtown and Purchase Street Colonials hide wet plaster at the sill and in the bath chase. Midland and Rye Town lots add finished cellars and stone foundations that wick. A buyer who wants a PDF before closing is a notes field, not a promise that we walk in. Write “Sound-side cottage,” “Colonial / plaster,” or “finished basement” if that is you.
You should get back: notes on every wet-looking room, moisture readings, what was not opened, samples only if they change the decision, and a next step. We do not quote a BreatheSafe price. A general home inspection is not a mold inspection.
